Two key characteristics of expert full grain leather tanning are strongly evident in this watch strap: pullup and patina.
- Pullup is how leather tends to lighten in color when it is stretched or pulled. The easiest way to see this is by running your fingers firmly along the underside or flesh side of the leather and watching how it temporarily changes the topside or hair side.
- Patina on leather is a soft sheen and darkening in color that develops over time and is caused by use and exposure to touch, dirt, and sunlight. This patina will be more evident on lighter colored leather.
