Peacock Mantis Shrimp - [Odontodactylus scyllarus]
Hey Nus, Lembeh Straits, North SuluwasiA Mantis Shrimp’s name comes from how its two front limbs fold up looking like a praying mantis. It uses these front limbs to strike out to stun and grab its prey. Moving at incredible speeds taking only milliseconds, their prey stand little chance of escape. They have been know to box at camera housing glass and break it! This one would now and then ‘stand up’ and just look at me; seeming to pose.

This photo image is made by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. It has a glossy finish which produces colors that are very vibrant and the luminescence is breathtaking. The ultra-hard scratch-resistant surface is waterproof/weatherproof and can be cleaned easily with any commercial glass cleaner (avoid direct sunlight). It is then mounted on one inch thick aluminum frame. Comes with all the hardware to make it easy for you to put it right on your wall.

How archival are Metal Prints?
Images printed with the MetalPrints process will last for generations when displayed indoors and out of direct sunlight. Like any fine art print, MetalPrints should not be exposed to direct sunlight or high outdoor temperatures. MetalPrints have an additional benefit over giclee or photographic processes in that they are waterproof and have an ultra-hard scratch resistant coating. The archival value of a print should be judged not only by its resistance to degradation by U.V. light and ozone exposure, but also to moisture and surface damage. When these factors are brought into the equation, MetalPrints are an excellent way to preserve an image.
